About me
My name is Katherine Wang, and I was born on June 14, 2008. My family consists of my mom, my dad, my older brother, and my dog. I am in grade 9 at Laurel Heights Secondary School. In the past I have had many extra-curricular activities such as dancing, gymnastics, skating, swimming, and drawing, but I currently play piano and have been playing for 7 years. I have been on many vacations with my family, but some of my favorite ones are when I've gone to London, Japan, Banff, New York and Mexico. I have many hobbies, such as drawing, painting, watching movies, baking and swimming.
One of my larger passions is horror movies. I love watching and learning about horror movies. Some of my favorite ones are Us, Get Out, Midsommar, Saw, Possum, Green Inferno and Terrifier. I personally believe that horror movies are highly underrated, for a reason that might surprise you. Horror movies rarely win large awards. Many critics believe that they are unable to tell stories, or truly mean anything besides scaring you. For example, one of my favorite directors, Jordan Peele is a prime example of someone who beats that stigma. His films "Us" and "Get Out" exemplify themes of societal issues, oppression of the government, the duality of human nature and racism + double consciousness. Some of my other favorite movies would include We're The Millers, The Babysitter, Joker, The Truman Show, The Matrix. Indiana Jones, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Scary Movie and Inception.
Some other things I enjoy doing are reading, photography, playing cards with my family, and other things I like having/collecting are candles and cacti. My favorite holiday is my birthday and Christmas, and my favorite music artists at this point in time are The Weeknd, Yeat, Lana Del Rey, Eminem, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar and 21 Savage.
